About ALA Movement

Transforming basketball through Action Line Awareness

Our Story

The ALA 3-Points Movement was born from a vision to revolutionize basketball in Liberia by combining traditional skills with modern analytics and scientific training methods. Our founders recognized the incredible raw talent across Liberia but saw the need for structured development programs.

Founded in 2023, our movement seeks to bridge the gap between raw talent and elite performance through the principles of Action Line Awareness (ALA). We started with community 3-point challenges and have grown into a comprehensive basketball development ecosystem.

Our Mission

To transform basketball in Liberia through the ALA 3-Points Movement, using analytics-based training and community engagement to develop the next generation of basketball talent while building character, leadership, and academic excellence.

Our Vision

To establish Liberia as a hub for basketball excellence in West Africa through the ALA Academy and create sustainable pathways for youth development that produce professional athletes, coaches, and sports leaders.

ALA Movement

Action Line Awareness Principles

Optimal Pathing

Teaching players to identify and execute the most efficient movement patterns on court, reducing wasted energy and increasing offensive opportunities through spatial intelligence.

Shot Analytics

Data-driven approach to shooting mechanics and shot selection using advanced tracking to break down shooting form, arc, and success rates from different court locations.

Basketball IQ

Developing court awareness and decision-making skills through film study, situational drills, and cognitive training that enhances game understanding.

Performance Metrics

Tracking and analyzing key performance indicators to measure progress, identify areas for improvement, and optimize training regimens for each player.

What Makes ALA Different

Data-Driven Training

Unlike traditional coaching, we use analytics to identify precise areas for improvement and track progress with measurable metrics that ensure tangible results.

Cognitive Development

We train the mind as much as the body, developing basketball IQ and decision-making skills alongside physical abilities for complete player development.

Community Focus

Our movement is rooted in community development, creating opportunities for Liberian youth beyond just basketball skills - building leaders and role models.

Holistic Approach

We develop complete athletes with leadership skills, academic support, and character building integrated into our programs for long-term success.

The Third Eye Concept

The "Third Eye" in ALA basketball represents a player's heightened court awareness and predictive capabilities. It's the ability to see plays before they develop, anticipate movements, and make decisions that seem almost intuitive - moving beyond reactive play to proactive, strategic execution.

This advanced perceptual skill transforms how players experience the game, allowing them to operate at a higher cognitive level where they're not just playing the game, but understanding and controlling it.

  • Understanding spatial relationships and court geometry
  • Predicting opponent movements and defensive patterns
  • Making split-second decisions based on game context
  • Visualizing optimal passing lanes and scoring opportunities
  • Reading defensive schemes before they fully develop
  • Anticipating game flow and momentum shifts

The Third Eye is what separates good players from great ones, and it's at the core of everything we teach in the ALA Movement. Through specialized drills, film analysis, and situational training, we help players develop this crucial skill that elevates their entire game.
